The first line of this got stuck in my head earlier this week. I ended up writing out a whole political rant in the hopes my infection with the dreaded “earworm” would cease.

Spoiler alert: it didn’t.

But, maybe someone else will get a kick out of this. I can’t be the only person who uses twisted humor as a stress relief, right? It’s the news from all of March in song form.

Other comedians in the world are going viral putting out production-level song parodies. I…rewrite teenage angst music lyrics that were already about the news and politics to be about different news and politics. This is why I don’t quit my day job! (But maybe if you are lucky later, I’ll get my Partner to finish his version of My Corona!)

Well maybe we’re all asking America:

Not everybody die for propaganda?

And sacrifice mom to the stocks of rich employers?

Revisionists deem response apropos

Each brief: more lies we’re meant to swallow!

For that truth, the press argues

One nation controlled by Fox media

Disinformation staged for disaster areas

Trump’s calling out his ratings to America!

Welcome to social distance suspension?

All across Italian-curving nation

Six-point-six million weekly missing paydays

Financial aid and hope, not more sorrow?

Course not! Depression ascent will surely follow

Will last through April too…
